1 p.m. - Big Waves Start as Ripples: Library Work as Peace Work
Do you believe global change starts behind the circulation desk of your tiny, rural library? Do you think your ability to interact with the community, thoughtfully create a collection, and provide programming can make Real Change? Libraries are intrinsically radical places of inclusivity and equanimity. Hear experiences of how you can use the "soft force" of librarianship to start a small ripple of peace outward from your own community (as well as a few tips on how to stay sane when your mission is to save the world).
Sarah Kyrie, Director, Blanchardville Public Library (Wisconsin)
